Linda Schmid was born and raised in Minnesota. She currently has studios in Brainerd, MN and Bradenton, FL.

Over the years, Linda has worked in a wide variety of mediums including stoneware, porcelain, brass sculpture, china painting, and watercolor paintings. She has found a great love in the beauty and fragility of glass.

Her bowls and platters are made with a "slumping" technique. Many are formed by fusing multiple pieces of glass together in a highly controled firing process. Too much heat, and the glass looses its form. Too little heat, and the fusing is incomplete. Linda's unique designs are attributable to her experience in several artistic disciplines.

The beads are all made by hand with a torch and then kiln annealed for strength and durability. They are made with Lauscha or Moretti glass from Italy. The metals are either Sterling Silver or Gold Fill. The dichroic pendants and earrings are especially exciting with their firey qualities.
